An auctions for new of Super Hero Squad from China reveals a new set X-Men Origins: Wolverine Super Hero Squad figures. Included in the set is a movie version of Deadpool, which appears to be scarred and have a single blade coming out of each hand. This all but confirms that the character in the images below (from the movie trailer) is in fact Deadpool, and that Deadpool will appear scarred in the movie. I'm not sure, but I'm hoping...on the Deadpool figure, does it look like something gray goes up to his forearm/elbow area? Though you can't see it in the pics from the trailer, I HOPE those are just some blades STRAPPED to his wrists or something...please...!
On a side note, I love how in the obviously 'Origins' themed Super Hero Squad pack, they have a motorcycle instead of Gambit.

I'm wondering if they take his swords and graft them into his arms as part of the Weapon X experiments. It's weak, but it could be much much worse. What I'm disappointed about is the lack of mask. I think the mask is much more important than blades sticking out of his arms.

If you look at the 3 3/4" figure you linked to, it says "COMIC SERIES" on it, indicating that the figure is based on the comic Deadpool, not the movie Deadpool.
Let's all try to look on the bright side here. Sure Deadpool has blades coming out of his hands...but think about it. Maybe as a joke Wade decided to mock Wolvie by taping some blades to his arms...maybe Wolvie will chop Deadpools arms off, and I believe I am correct in assuming if he did Wade could not grow the blades back...or worst case scenario Deadpool does have Baraka blades let's just pray if this is the case Reynolds plays the Hell out of ths role and at least makes Wade memorable.
Watch Fox on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday they will show a 60 seconds long TV spot each day. Its about fuckin time to show some real deadpool footage from the film:D and hopefully the baraka thing will settle then...

Oafius , Im with you on this one. I think your dead on the money, DP becomes weapon XI, think about it. take wolvies healing factor. wraiths teleportation , mix and match powers etc (i think someone wrote earlier on a different post that DP can teleport in the game... can someone confirm this?) it would also mean that he actually retains all his abilities from the comic.
I would love if the whole blade on the arms thing becomes Wades version of mocking wolvie. that would then not only save the character. BUT BECOME AN INSTANT CLASSIC DP MOMENT!

I envisioned that the end of the film would be deadpool being beaten to a pulp, all scared etc. Team X seems him as a failure and last you see of him is him being shipped off to Dept. H..... and intro a stand alone DP movie.. yay! (crowd cheers, parades in the street, world leaders mark it with a national holiday)

He's talking about Deadpool's introduction. Being on the same team as Logan, and how Wolverine is going to be responsible for the scarring, as opposed to cancerous tumors. Deadpool has claws taped to his arms. Everyone needs to stop flipping out about a blurry picture of a stupid toy and a picture of Deadpool in motion where there is the hint of a claw on one arm that you can't even fucking see if you actually look at it instead of letting the power of suggestion from the toy put claws on those pics.
Either way, Reynolds is one of us, a Deadpool freak, and the solo movie is going to introduce things like the mask and the cancer and breaking the 4th wall, so everybody chill.
Y'know, maybe they can still be faithful while taking these creative licenses. Just off the top of my head - what if Weapon X experiments on Wade further giving him wolvie's healing factor and some blades in his arm in order to fight Wolvie. They have their big fight scene, Wolvie cuts off the blaedes and wins, seemingly killing Wade or so he thinks. Wade survives and/or Weapon X dumps him to Department H to let Dr. Killebrew do whatever he wants with him since he's "useless" or "garbage". Segue to a Deadpool solo flick. Just an idea.

they are clearly coming out of his hands, it could work it might not, but people need to face facts, and stop trying to fantasize about a 616 Deadpool strapping kitanas to his arm for a joke against wolverine the fact of the matter is, this is movie deadpool and they are going to update him, thats facts, this is how they feel its going to work, i think its time to cross your fingers and hope for the best.

I haven't read all weapon x stuff in along time so i don't know how much detail goes into what happened in deadpool time there. other then cancer, healing factor etc. So as long as he doesn't have blades by the end, or gets them removed i'll be happy

yeah on the toy it has bandages, but the film doesnt. the reason its prbably on the toy, is to make the toy look less violent being a media student, we learn about this stuff all the time, and its logical as the toy is a topless man with two single blades without the bandages the connotations of the charcter wouldnt look good to mums who would be potential buyers of the product for their YOUNG children.

Because the duct tape covers the two single blades which will have connotations with murder, covering them makes them look like a wound on Deadpool and not self inflicted. The wolverine has three blades, has the name wolverine and has connotations with animals making him more sustainable, also hes wearing a civilian outfit also giving the connotation of self defence.

but have you noticed everyone, on the promo vid, it only shows each supporting character once, apart from sabretooth, who is a key addition and in a variety of fight scenes. if this sword hand freak is supposedly deadpool, why would they show a shot of wade wilson. think about it logically, it shows gambit, then emma frost, then weird swordy hand, then wade wilson. sooo, maybe it is a typo on the box and this is weapon xi, completely seprate. lets hope so .....

The healing factor and blades are from wolverine and there were rumors that Deadpool can teleport in the game: Wraith a long time ago someone said on the imdb boards that they are gonna give Deadpool the ability to shoot laser beams from the eye: there is cyclops in the camp...if thats true and they fuck deadpool up so much im gonna burn fox to the ground...

Okay, if they have altered Deadpool's powers, but have left his personality intact, then I am okay with it. I don't love Deadpool for his powerset, I love him for his unique view of the world. I'd much rather see Fox alter his abilites in the hopes of making him more acessable to general audiances than change his personality.

i'll agree but also disagree to a certain extent. using Ledger's Joker in TDK as an example...written superbly, perhaps acted even better. but the make-up caused a huge uproar prior to release (fan boys wanted bleached skin). however, it made sense in context (i.e. in a more realistic universe). Nolan adapted The Joker to fit the environment, but he didn't screw with the character.
now, say Fox nails DP in the same fashion -- written well, RR does a good acting job...but they fit him up with retractable blades and the such?? that's screwing the character, not adapting him to the environment of the movie (an example of that would be, to make him a mutant).
i'm still waiting to pass full judgment, but if this is what it appears to be, part of me is already extremely disappointed.

I can handle the makeup, I can handle him taping swords to his arms. What would irritate me is if the claws are in fact some copy (baraka like) of wolvie. Mostly because it would just be pointless, like some jag off from fox was sitting in a room thinking.. "Ya know whats better than ONE set of retractable claws?" I got to believe that they aren't really that stupid.
Little things like that have a way of ruining a otherwise decent movie. Hell I still havent gotten over them modifying the bat sigil in the 1989 Batman.

Here it is. The blades come out of Deadpools hand ala Wolverine. He has been generically engineered with several mutants powers. He shoots beams out of his eyes ala cyclops, and many other shifty things fox decided to fuck up about him. He only has a few speaking lines in the beginning, and ZERO at the end. His comic book identity has been completely shit on by fox, as xmen history has. I don't understand why fox doesn't think we want the comic deadpool, but they don't, so we get this ass of a movie! I watched it from beginning to end. Fox has officially killed the xmen franchise. I hope Marvel gets the rights back soon!
Watched the movie, and deadpool is, just as everyone has said, is all screwed up. Including cyclops' eye powers, blades from the arms, and a rolling lot of other horrible crap. You won't believe how terrible this film is, and how many plot holes there are. Oh, and Gambit...Gambit is terrible. Awful. I'm still hoping this release WAS an April Fool's joke.
Also just saw the leaked version with in mind there was a lot of raw footage. Deadpool has been completely fucked. At the beginning it seems Reynolds witty sarcasm is what we're going to see in the movie but alas no. You see him at the beginning then you see him at the end with actually no clear idea on how they ended up putting all those mutant powers into a human body. They just did. If your hoping for a spin-off Deadpool movie all I can say is that you better hope FOX created a mutant writer that has the power of all the creative minds in the world. Why stray from the comic book characters. The stories have already been written, they're perfect for movies. Why the the fuck do they feel the need to change anything. Anyway I'm going back to books, been let down to much from the writing in film.
