Comics Bulletin - 3/5Deadpool #4 is a lively, action-adventure that may seem ordinary but has surprisingly dark moments amidst a cavalcade of gags and one-liners.
Independent Comics Site - 2/5
This issue is more of the same: Deadpool makes a few funnies, blows some stuff up, is still a really cool assassin, kills mercenaries, is betrayed in like the fiftieth plot twist seen in four issues, and there are zombies. Yawn. Boring.
iFanboy user review - Story 4/5 Art 5/5
So I recommend all of you to give this series a try. Like Incredible Herc, or Guardians of the Galaxy, and even Captain Britain; this has been a very surprise hit in an otherwise medicore year for Marvel. I hope Daniel Way continues to stay on this book because honestly, he is the best Deadpool writer ever and I dont see anyone else writing Deadpool the way he does.
ign - 7.5/10
Much like its star, the Deadpool series is a simple beast. It blows things up and gets you to laugh a few times along the way. I suppose it could be funnier, or more complicated, but the point is that it's entertaining. Deadpool fans will definitely have some fun here.

The madcap adventures of a deranged mercenary? Fantastic.

I’ve always liked my funnybooks funny or at least amusingly odd. Way & Co are doing a splendid job filling my need for humour, as well as explosive chairs, hunchbacks and zombies. I look forward to the next issue!

Former Fox Exec Hints at Deadpool Spin-Off Movie
According to MTV's Spash Page, during a recent Comic Book Club show, former 20th Century Fox Studio Executive Jeff Katz hinted at the possibility of a Deadpool spin-off movie from the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie that comes out next year.""The film nicely tees [Deadpool] off for his own spin-off film," said Katz, who raved about Ryan Reynolds‘ portrayal of the wise-cracking mercenary. In Marvel’s comic book universe, Wade Wilson (a.k.a. Deadpool) is a product of the same “Weapon X” experiments that Wolverine was subjected to by the Canadian government, but the experiments left him disfigured and mentally unstable."
This is still only rumor at this point, and Fox has not confirmed any plans to make a Deadpool movie. [SOURCE]

Artists Revealed for Deadpool #4

There has been some confusion as to which artist would be drawing Deadpool issues 4 and 5. Marvel.com lists Paco Medina as the artist for Deadpool #4, and Carlo Barberi as the artist for #5. In an interview with Deadpool Bugle, Barberi confirmed he would be the artist on both issue 4 and issue 5. In the recent preview of Deadpool #4 the actual artist has been revealed. Barberi drew pages 1-17 and Medina drew pages 18-22. Paco Medina is still listed as the artist for Deadpool #6, and Barberi stated that he would not be taking over and that it was his impression that Medina would continue to be the ongoing artist on the series.

Interview with Weapon X: First Class Writer About Deadpool
Marvel.com has just posted an interview with Marc Sumerak, who is writing the Weapon X: First Class series. The series focuses on Wolverine's Weapon X experience, but each issue also contains a backup story featuring other Weapon X characters. As previously reported, in Weapon X: First Class #2 the backup story is about Deadpool's experience in the Weapon X program. There isn't much additional detail about the story, but Sumerak does talk about the research he did for the story:"I re-read a ton of Deadpool issues as prep for this story," he shares. "A lot of info about Wade's time with Weapon X comes from [DEADPOOL ANNUAL 1998], so that one was essential. In terms of the story's overall tone, I went back to some classics. I'm a big fan of the Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness run that kicked off Deadpool's first ongoing series. Those issues made me laugh 'til I hurt."
