Additional Details About Deadpool in Wolverine Movie

IEST.net has posted an interview they had with Fox co-chairman Tom Rothman to discuss upcoming 20th Century Fox projects, including Wolverine. When asked about Deadpool he had the following to say:
IESB: So, we get teased in the Wolverine trailer with Deadpool, he's a fan favorite, another second tier Iron Man-like character, and Ryan Reynolds has been dying to play this guy for years and I think that's why he even did the cameo because he wants a stand alone film. Any movement there?
TR: Yes and no, I mean, Deadpool is an integral part of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, we are in the process now, of doing all the CG work to create that character at an A +++ level, that's being done in truly as state of the art fashion as possible...
IESB: Scarring and all?
TR: It will be very rewarding for the fans, let's put it that way. It's a high level endeavor because he figures importantly in the movie, so whether he'll spin off into his own movie, if that's what you're asking, I don't know the answer. We will have to see.
So far little had been said about Deadpool's appearance or role in the movie, and this interview hints that he does have a fairly significant role and that his appearance will be closer to the comics than previously thought. [SOURCE]

Joe Kelly Reminisces About His Deadpool Run

Marvel.com has posted an interview with former Deadpool writer Joe Kelly. The interview focuses mainly on his upcoming work on Amazing Spider Man, but there is one question that focuses on his run on the first ongoing Deadpool series.
Marvel.com: When Steve Wacker originally announced that you were coming on the book, he mentioned that one of the reasons you stood out for this gig was your work on DEADPOOL with Ed McGuinness. Since that original run came out, Marvel's given the character multiple series, and he's become one of the most popular new characters of the past 20 years. What's it like to have something you did become so big for the Marvel Universe and still be landing you gigs years later?
Joe Kelly: I certainly appreciate that. One of the cool things is that you play with these toys and ultimately they belong to somebody else, and to know that you did something that endures and was able to help keep the character afloat—that's really cool to me. What's nice about the DEADPOOL stuff specifically is that people remember the work that I did. It's not just "Why is this guy still around?" It comes back to "Oh yeah, Joe's run," and that's really cool because I love that book. That was my first real series that I felt ownership of. I had started doing DAREDEVIL right before that and never felt super strong ownership of that book, but DEADPOOL was all ours.
Specifically with [editor Matt] Idelson, we just thought the book was going to be cancelled at six issues and we could do whatever we wanted. Nobody was paying attention, nobody cared, and so it was a great time to experiment and goof around and ultimately write a book that I would like to read. It's great that it's still around and people still care. I think the nice thing, or at least I hope that when people look at the context of my writing career, it's not like "There was DEADPOOL and then 10 years of nothing else and now he's on Spider-Man." [Laughs] So the good thing is that it's a very cool benchmark of where I was and where I headed. I hope that more of those trades come out because I think people will enjoy those issues again.

Deadpool #3 Reviews
A big thanks to Deadpool Bugle reader Tom for finding the reviews.CBR
Daniel Way has a gift here, and he makes this character practically jitterbug off the page. The talented artwork of Paco Medina, Juan Vlasco and Marte Gracia goes a long way to making this issue even more excellent, so yeah, this is now a buy-on-sight series.
IGN - 7.6/10
While I don't ever expect the plot to supplant the spectacle in terms of importance on this title, anything would have been better than the nothing we received. In the end though, I had fun reading this issue and arc. Hopefully and overarching story will come into play, but I'm not counting on it.
Comics Bulletin - 3.5/5
The character walks the line between referencing a Queen song to killing a living being without remorse. He's a comedian who literally kills his audience. And honestly, it's the best routine in town.
iFanboy
I have never been as surprised to read a book as much as I have for the second volume of Deadpool. The "Merc with the Mouth" really lives up the dehydrated title we have given this character in the past. To say that Daniel Way has done a great job NOT tying in the Secret Invasion letdown would be an understatement.
ComicNewsi - 3/5
What a difference a few issues can make. Part 1 of Danny Way’s Secret Invasion crossover was as close to unreadable as a comic can get. Two issues later and we have a satisfying story, which while still suffering from as few cringe worthy panels, is at least worth the paper it’s printed on.
Review Busters - 9/10
Secret Invasion tie-ins are either real good or real bad. Deadpool has put tie-in issues back on the map. One of Us is one of the best reads the Secret Invasion has seen in awhile. Deadpool is back and Marvel needs to thank him for making the Secret Invasion good again.
Wizard
Way continues to prove he was born to write this title. He really has a grasp on the trademark humor Deadpool is known for coupled with moments of action and possible overarching intrigue.

Schuler Donner: Yes. Ryan Reynolds is playing Deadpool... he plays Wade Wilson.
CS/SHH!: Is that in hopes of a "Deadpool" spin-off film?
Schuler Donner: I hope so. I really hope so. He's so good at it.
